OBSTACLE MECHANIC

Ropes

Roped blocks are tied up. Clearing scissor blocks of the same color cuts the ropes.

How the Ropes works

Roped blocks are tied up. Clearing scissor blocks of the same color cuts the ropes.

It is one of the core obstacles you meet through the early and mid levels, usually alongside plain colored blocks and simple gates.

How to play around it

Match the rope color to its scissors first, since a tied block cannot exit until the rope is gone.

Like every obstacle in the game, the ropes never makes a level impossible. Every board can be finished without boosters, so if a route feels blocked, the answer is usually the order in which you clear the other colors, not the obstacle itself.

Where you meet it

The Ropes typically starts appearing around Level 106 and stays part of the rotation from that point on. Boards that feature it become more frequent as the level numbers climb.

See it in action on the Levels 101–125 walkthrough index, or browse every mechanic on the mechanics guide.
